Description: Zaister takes after his father, there's no doubt about it. He has dark brown hair which goes to black in the winter, and he's a lot bigger than both of his sisters -- although he's still growing! His blue eyes come from Steira, as does the pale tint to his skin, but other than that he looks remarkably like Z'ai. He wears dark blue and dark green most of the time.

Personality: Zaister has a lively personality, but most of it is squashed by his grandparents, Pendros and Airatil, who raised him. They drilled him to be a proper Lord Holder, but his rebellious side wins out whenever he thinks they're not looking. He's managed to assemble a gang of holdbrats that he hangs out with, despite his grandparents' protests that he's too good for that. The holdbrats would follow Zaister anywhere.

Sex/pref: Male, heterosexual

History: Zaister is the product of one crazy mating flight. His mother, Steira, slept with both S'nar and Z'ai on the same night. Steira never told her children about S'nar, however, so they all look upon Z'ai as their father. Steira didn't see herself as much of a mother, so she fostered all three. Perhaps out of guilt, she allowed her parents, Pendros and Airatil, to raise Zaister as the Heir to Keroon Hold.

Delighted, the Lord Holders did their best to raise Zaister the way they thought a Heir should be raised: confident, arrogant, and handsome. It was the influence of Steira, Z'ai, and his sisters Saren and Datsieli that prevented Zaister from turning out wholly arrogant. Steira made a point of allowing her children to see each other and their parents often, and Zaister soon began to look forward to spending time with his siblings -- *anything* was better than the boring stuff his grandparents made him do!

So despite efforts to the contrary, Zaister grew up to be lively and kind, ironically making him a better Lord-to-be than if his grandparents had had their way. He was upset when his mother Steira died in Threadfall, and has been keeping up with Datsieli as she makes her way at Mountain Song Weyr. However, he's begun to suspect that the girls are keeping something from him.
