Description: Sahirah stands at 5'2", short for a woman on Pern, with a round figure of approximately 150 lbs. Her skin is a light brown with a hint of a tan, and her black hair falls halfway down her back -- she hasn't had it cut in Turns. Sahirah wears spectacles for reading, something she didn't do in her youth but has been forced to accept as one of the consequences of aging. She favors long skirts in bright patterns and light tops.

Personality: Sahirah is one of those people that you either love or hate. Her personality leaves very little room for anything in between. She has a quick wit and a lively tongue, and enjoys to tease her students' minds to get them to think. One of her major faults is her lack of tact in certain issues. She prefers to tell the truth, even if a lie might make the person feel better. She has a tendency to lose herself in her music -- she's not a workaholic, she just tends to blur the line between fun and work often.

History: Sahirah was born at a small cothold outside of High Reaches Hold, the second of four children and the only girl. She went to 
Harper Hall when she was eleven and began her training there, latching onto the more technical issues of music. She was taken under the wing of the Master whose specialty was Music Theory, and began to make that her own passion. When she walked the tables to Journeywoman, she went to Benden Hold and settled in there, marrying a drudge named Larlan. They had three children together, two girls and one boy.

When Larlan died in his sleep, Sahirah was forty-five and still a Journeywoman, and her children had all grown up and moved out. At her 
request, she moved back to the Harper Hall to complete her Mastership -- which didn't take long. When the new Southern Hall was announced, Sahirah was picked as one of the Masters to go. She requested it, and it helped that she had the smallest of ties to Hold or Weyr politics -- her children were crafters, and she had a niece who married the second son of Southern Boll Hold.
