Physical Description: Rikeron is thin as a rail, one of those people who never seem to gain weight. He has silky, smooth black hair that he keeps cropped relatively short, but still long enough to be able to run his fingers through when he's frustrated. His eyes are a very light brown, almost gold at times. Rikeron's skin is darker than his eyes, making them stand out even more. His skin doesn't change with the seasons, it's a leathery light brown all the time. Rikeron is shorter than most of the other guys he sees, about 5'7". He has a small, narrow nose that is a fair distance from his lips, making his entire face seem very long.
Personality: Rikeron is a dependable guy. You always know how he's going to act, what he's going to say, et cetera. He seems to have been this way from a very young age and shows no signs of changing. Predictable -- some might say boring -- but Rikeron seems to enjoy it. Certainly he makes no effort to change his ways. And on the rare occasions when he does do something new, it's a complete shock. Where Kerenya is quiet most of the time, Rikeron enjoys conversation with a small group of friends. He spends most of his free time either with Kerenya or going for walks and rides around the cothold area.
History: Rikeron was born to Journeywoman Beastcrafter Rikita and her mate, Brownrider E'kon of Ghilath, at Ista Weyr. E'kon was killed in a fall when Rikeron was 2, and Rikita raised him alone. Life in a weyr got to be too hectic for Rikita, so she moved to a small cothold beholden to Telgar Hold when her son was 9. Rikeron spent a lot of time at the creche at Rolling Hills and made a friend, an orphan named Kerenya. He began bringing Kerenya home often, and the girl grew on both mother and son. Rikita got permission to formally adopt Kerenya. The family grew again when Rikita accepted the Healer, Borsken's, offer of marriage. Rikeron and Kerenya were formally apprenticed as Beastcrafters at age 12 when Rikita became pregnant. Rikeron had never been happier. Borsken proved to be a good father to all of the children concerned, and soon Rikeron stopped thinking of him or Kerenya as anything but 'real' family. He tried to help Kerenya come out of her shell a little, wanting his sister to be happy. When they turned sixteen, both Rikeron and Kerenya received canine pups as gifts from their mother. In an unexpected twist, Kerenya and Rikeron were Searched at the same time while on a visit to the South. Neither of them had ever considered being dragonriders. They agreed that they would make the decision together -- either they would both go or they would both stay. Oddly enough, it was Kerenya who became more enthusiastic about the prospect of becoming a dragonrider. Besides, they were on the old end of the Candidate spectrum, so if it didn't work out they could return home and continue as they had. So Kerenya and Rikeron came to Mountain Song Weyr.

Physical description: A smallish tricolor canine, Derb has floppy brown ears and relatively coarse fur. He has a very large nose which is always glued to the ground. He has a large black patch on his left side, but otherwise his fur is mostly white.
