Weyrling R'bo on Blue Indigoth
Player: Fox Treymayne
Name: R'bo (Rubio)
Age: 20
Rank: Weyrling, Apprentice Beastcrafter and Jack-of-all-trades
Description: Long dark brown hair that ends just below his shoulder blades. His complexion is tanned a dark rustic brown, especially around his face and neck. His eyes are equally as dark brown as his hair a face, with lighter blues mixed in. His body structure is very very lean and well muscled, about 6 feet tall even. His basic outfit are well-worn boots, a long sleeved tunic, and long pants. He tends to favor brighter colors, but generally anything in the rainbow will suit his tastes.
Personality: He's a busy-body to the very end. Constantly wanting to move, work, putter, whatever, as long as it means he doesn't have to sit. He has a long span of attention only if he can work with his hands or interact in some way, otherwise, you've lost him. Don't bother trying to get him to behave in a class that involves sitting or studying for longer than a few minutes, he wont be able to manage. He's a hard worker though. The long hard back breaking work other's shun are the kind he revels in.
Gender/Preference: Male, Heterosexual
History: Rubio's life started out unlike most other young one's of Pern. His
mother was in the fields gathering the heavy heads of grain for the harvest, when
she felt the first birthing pains. A tough woman who had already given birth to six previous children without a hitch, didn't even call for help.
Rubio's father and indeed entire family were surprised when she returned home with
the baby, clean from the river, wrapped in her skirts and laying in the soft basket of grain. The cothold of his family was in the northern territories of Ista. The
summers were hot and the winter's mild, perfect for roaming on one's own. Being the youngest, Rubio was carted around by his five older sisters
and one older brother to where ever they chose to travel. He knew his parents very little, but the land very well, and quickly grew into a roamer. When he turned twelve he decided to apprentice at the Healer's Hall,
but the long classes in the sturdy structure drove him insane. After barely a turn
he instead switched to Smith crafting, which didn't last much longer. Jewelry crafting, wood crafting, masonry, ceramics, baking, art, and
even sewing followed in quick succession for some period of time or another. Finally, tired of hearing about the young man's wondering from craft to
craft, the Harper's took him in and taught them all they could before he, again, grew bored with the long classes and tight restrictions on his
movement. His Master at the Hall sent him to the only place he knew the fidgety boy might thrive. On his eighteenth birthingday he began his training at the Beast
crafting Hall, and found it to be his calling. He could work the herdbeasts, calm
nearly any runner beast, and even managed to sit still long enough in
the classes to soak up the lessons like a sponge. After only a year of training,
Rubio had a herd to tend to and a runner to call his own. For his nineteenth birthingday and anniversary of his apprenticeship, his Master gave him
one of the flit eggs from his own gold. He'd meant to surprise the boy with a
gold, and instead found Rubio glowing over the largest brown hatchling he'd ever seen. Two turns after Rubio's arrival, nearing his time to walk the tables to
journeyman, a blue dragon and his rider visited the Hall on Search. They were frantic for another candidate, since they had come up short and
the Weyr needed at least one more for the sands. The blue practically pounced on
the stunned young man, and dragged him away to the Weyr. Barely two candlemarks later the Queen began to hum. Another candlemark later,
Rubio left the sands alone. The extra egg he was meant for turned out to be a still one, and never even shook. But the blue dragon that had Searched him stood by his decree that the
boy was to Impress. Word had reached the North of Queen Monaryth's immense clutch in the new Weyr. Rubio's desire to wander was lifting to the
surface once more thanks to the sudden adventure, and accepted their offer for a
ride to Mountain Song.
R'bo was surprised to be accepted so quickly when he arrived at the
Weyr. He was there barely two sevendays when the eggs began to rock and the
candidates were called to the sands. Sure enough, a stunningly beautiful blue, the color of blue and purple mid-argument, spilled from his egg
and ambled his way to R'bo's side. The problem: The blue was lazy. VERY lazy. He
hated to move, play, anything.Several weeks into Weyrling training this was becoming a major problem.
Six months or so into it, R'bo had had enough. He actually attempted to shove the dragonet into motion. The activity actually brought others to the
scene though, upsetting the dragonet more. It was then R'bo realized there was something wrong with Indigoth he hadn't noticed before. With a graying
hide and drooping wings, he was escorted to the Infirmary with the help of Meerketh and his rider, Arrsan. The healing pair were able to get
Indigoth to Master Canaan where her was diagnosed with a deficiency in his Boron
levels. He was ordered to eat more and take a suppliment Canaan provided. He's recovering nicely.
Pets:
Name: Giant
Species: Brown Flit
Description: Built and colored just like a regular brown, with a hide the color of
dark sienna and only slightly darker wings. His most stunning feature is his size. Easily the size of a bronze, he has neared and conquered gold
proportions when compared to most flits. He's got a loving personality though. He and Rubio have bonded to the extremes, and he barely leaves
his pet's side.
Crafter: Yes (formerly)
Craft: Beastcraft
Rank: Apprentice
Specialties: Hands-on work. Usually calming and soothing.
Dragon Name: Indigoth
Color: Blue
Age: Hatchling
Dragon Description: Indigoth is beautiful for a blue. His hide is completely covered in a dark blue-purple combination that can leave your eyes wondering what color he really is, blue or purple. He's got a rather round body, and is smaller than the normal blue from his deficiency. He looks like a very large hatching instead of a mid-growth dragonet, but that is quickly changing.
Dragon Personality: Indigoth rarely jokes or plays. He tends to be disinterested in
anything that has to do with activity at all. This is a condition of his
sickness, however, and is steadily changing into a personality that better suits
the rider he is bonded to.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Indi runs at a slightly slower pace than most dragons. And because of the brittleness of his bones, it isn't known how well his first flight is going to go…………..
