Description: K‘zean is a above taller than most men but very thin. He has built up enough muscle over his years of dragonriding to make him appear lean and muscular. He has really short black hair that he keeps neatly trimmed and never goes longer than the nape of his neck. He has brown eyes. When he is not in his riding gear he prefers to wear loose fitting clothes that he can move and work in.

Personality: K’zean is a very hardworking man. Sometimes it takes a lot to get him to relax. When he is not in training, he is often working out his body or his mind. He appears most often as quiet and aloof but that is only because he focuses more on his work than his surroundings. He often knows what he wants and goes for it except for when it comes to women. He is a romantic at heart and doesn’t get emotionally involved with women unless he knows it is going to last. Dragon flights he considers a duty.

History: K’zean is from High Reaches born to two dragon riders after a dragon flight. He was raised in the creche and then as a weyrbrat. He knew from the beginning that he wanted to be a dragon rider and everything he did was so he could be a candidate. He studied dragons and has helped other riders since he could walk. He never really had a chance to be searched because as soon as he was old enough he talked the candidate master into letting him stand and to his surprise he impressed on his first try. He impressed a young bronze who was very like him in personality at the age of 12. He didn’t get distracted by girls or by his fellow riders and was oftentimes more focused on becoming a full rider than anything else in his life. As he grew up not much changed. He didn’t get into any trouble but was often at the wrong end of a prank from his fellow weyrlings because of his personality. When he won the wing leadership and then weyrleadership, he attributed this to his hard work and determination but knew his duties and knew that he could not keep either position forever. When his dragon lost in the third flight he was not to overly disappointed and continued on with his duties. He had been pursued by a few girls including those riders his dragon chased but was so focused in his work that he really took no notice of them. That was until his dragon got seriously injured in a flight and had to remain mostly under the care of the dragon healers for several days. That is where he met Gitasi, an apprentice dragon healer. He did not notice her at first because he was so worried about his own dragon and in fact completely ignored her about any other subject than his dragon while his dragon remained in their care. It took several of his fellow riders to point out to him that she seemed to be paying an unusual amount of attention to him for someone outside of her speciality and he didn’t know her that well to know if the rumors about her conquest over men to be true. After his dragon was better he kept running into her around the weyr and during meals. He tried not to think anything about it until his friends and fellow riders wouldn’t leave him alone. It didn’t take him long to consider how attractive she was and that she wanted him and he really didn’t notice the fact that she was with other guys because they weren’t in a relationship. There relationship began to develop slowly only because he was unsure about how to make a relationship work and he did not try to make it serious. It was only by a simple seduction on her part that she got him into bed. He began to fall for her after that and he denied the fact that she might be sleeping with other men. He thought he had found the woman he wanted to settle down with and even dropped a few hints to help speed this along its way. He knew that she liked weyrs and gave her an egg that took a lot for him to obtain. When she got pregnant he did not find out until after she miscarried in the fifth month and that he would keep something like that a secret from him broke his heart. He tried to comfort and stay with her while she recovered but found himself retreating more into his work up until the point that he didn’t really notice her leave. Everything about her also began to build up in his mind, her reputation that he tried so hard to ignore and the fact that she just might have used him as another notch on her belt. He began to wonder if he should have trusted her at all. When she left, she hurt him even more because everything that he thought about her had been confirmed and his dragonriding performance and other duties began to decline. The current weyrleader and fellow riders did notice a distinct change in his behavior. They suggested he take a few days off but when that didn’t help, they suggested a change of scenery and maybe to let go of some of his responsibilities. The weyrleader assigned someone else his wing and gave him a transfer to Southern weyr, a position that would only be temporary. He discovered that he liked the south and after his duties at Southern were over he asked for a transfer to another southern weyr. He also found that High Reaches reminded him too much of what he lost with Gitasi. When choosing where he wanted to go after Southern, he knew that Gitasi had a brother at Mountain Song and there might be a chance that she was there but he was also afraid to see her again. One of his fellow riders at High Reaches suggested that if he transferred to Mountain Song and saw her, he might be able to work things out and move on with his life. After a brief return to High Reaches he was given another transfer to Mountain Song.

Dragon Description: Akenth is a dark earthy bronze. He can blend in well in the night and in deep shade. His is a slightly smaller than average bronze but makes up for his size with determination and perseverance.
Dragon Personality: He is a very hard worker just like his rider as well as determined in getting what he wants which was what won him the weyrleadership at High Reaches for a couple of flights.
