Description: 6'2", dark hair streaked with gray, dark eyes, medium complexion, well muscled, keeps in shape for a man his age. 

Personality: Herron is cautious and reserved in public, but is more open and warm in private. His is kind and a good listener to any that has concerns. He can appear to be a fence sitter on some political or social issues, but once he makes up his mind and takes action, he sticks to it, and defends his decision to the end.

History: Herron was the eldest son and heir to Southern Hold. His marriage to Caroline from a minor hold up North, was arranged by his and hers parents, but it was love at first sight for both. They married and shortly after, Caroline became pregnant. She nearly died giving birth to their daughter Elsbeth. Herron took control of Southern Hold and became heavily involved with the running of the Hold, so much that he didn't notice Caroline growing weaker and sick. Caroline also tried to keep her illness from him, not wanting to worry him. But it couldn't be denied after Caroline fainted one morning in Herron's arms. It was then that he learned of his wife's illness and that the healers didn't know what was wrong or what to do to heal her. AS Caroline grew weaker, her duties and raising of their daughter had to be passed off to others in the hold. Elsbeth's training was left to tutors. Caroline died after 5 years of pain and wasting away. Herron changed through these years, becoming more solemn and introverted both socially and politically. His daughter became of paramount importance to him and he spoiled Elsbeth to try and make up for Caroline's death.

For the next ten turns concentrated on running Southern. With Elsbeth as his only heir, he worked to make Southern prosperous, though he held back promising her to any Lord's son until she was closer to marrying age. Elsbeth, however had other ideas, and in a show of defiance, went with a searchrider from Southern when she was searched. She impressed her first time on the sands.

His lack of an heir led the Lord Holders to press Herron to take another wife to keep Southern Hold's heredity from falling into contention, most in hopes that one of their daughters would be taken. But Herron, in his 40s, had no interest in a young wife. He met, but showed no interest in any of the young girls offered until a lady from a minor hold came to see him with her mother and Lady-in-Waiting, Caraline. Herron was taken by Caraline, despite the similarity of her name to her late wife's. She was smart, educated, and unafraid to speak her mind to him. Above all, she was close in age to him. After speaking at length with Caraline, he chose to court her. They were married 6 months later, and a few months after that, Caraline was expecting with twins. Herron was with Caraline through the birth of their twins, and named the oldest Samantha and the youngest Caraline named Wren.

Herron's relationship with his daughter from his first marriage had remained on good terms after the impressed. But with the news of Herron remarrying, it became rocky at best, Elsbeth not accepting Caraline as her stepmother. Herron has tried several times to reach out to his daughter, but the relationship remained tentative at best.
