Rider G'ban on Brown Adreth

Player Name: Madeleine

Character Name: G'ban
Age: 23, born 3.06
Rank: Brownrider

Description: G'ban has olive colored skin with pitch black hair and dark brown eyes. His hair is wild, and even when he has a riding helmet on, it still tends to go every which way. He favors pale clothing, colors that blend in with his dragon's hide so they won't be noticed -- and they'll match. But no matter what, he's always dressed impeccably. He doesn't have the outward appearance of being strong, but he's beginning to build a bit of muscle from being a rider.

Personality: G'ban still treats some people as if they are below him. It's a habit that he's being coaxed into breaking by his superiors and friends. Only his closest friends, and the Weyrleaders, are treated with any sort of respect all of the time. The rest of the Weyr gets it *some* of the time -- dragonriders more often than crafters or drudges. He views rank as extremely important, but more than rank -- birthright. Anyone born into a major Hold's nobility has his instant respect, and common Holders get condescending remarks if they're lucky.

Gender/sexual preference: Male, heterosexual

History: Gaban was born into the nobility of Fort Hold, and he was spoiled rotten from birth. His parents had him educated alongside his cousin Harak, the Heir to Fort, and early in his life he decided he wanted to be a scholar. He was the epitome of an upperclass snob, and wasn't afraid to flaunt it. When he was 10, he was apprenticed to the Steward of Fort, with the expectation that he would inherit that position. This was widely seen as favoritism because his uncle was Lord of Fort Hold. He was actually a very bright, very intelligent pupil, and was a good choice to be Steward, but some of the people only saw his family ties to the Lord and his Heir.

When he was 18, he was visiting Fort Weyr for a few days to look at some of their records. The Senior Gold's clutch began to hatch, a bit early, and Gaban went to watch. The fourth egg, a medium-sized brown, went for Gaban and declared his name to be Adreth. G'ban had to abandon his training as the Steward and become a dragonrider, though he warmed to the idea of his new profession quickly.

He made very few friends in his Weyrling class because of the way he treated them -- as if he were better than they were, even the bronzeriders and goldrider. Adreth's moderate temper kept him in check long enough to prevent his Weyrling Master from holding him back -- or just killing him. Once he graduated and became a full rider, Adreth kept working at G'ban's prejudices, trying to break them, but conflict came before G'ban had fully changed.

G'ban had words with his Wingleader -- who, though he was a bronzerider, was of very low birth and had in fact been Holdless and renegade for a period of time. G'ban absolutely refused to respect the Wingleader's word and very nearly got into a fight with him. The Weyrleaders gave him two options: treat the Wingleader with the respect he deserves, or transfer. He chose to transfer, though there was no guarantee that he'd find anyone at Mountain Song that he could work with.

Color: Blue
Description: Pale blue that blends in perfectly with the daytime sky,
almost white wings. A bit large for a blue.
Personality: Friendly and outgoing.

Dragon Name: Adreth
Dragon Color: Brown
Dragon Age: 5
Dragon Description: A large brown who sometimes looks like a small, pale bronze. His hide is a pale sandy brown in color. His body is large, but neither very bulky or skinny.
Dragon Personality: Adreth is very friendly with almost everyone he meets. He doesn't understand why his rider keeps trying to act superior to his fellow riders. In his eyes, they're all equal. He's the main reason Gaban's survived without the other dragonriders physically assaulting him.
Strength's Weaknesses: Adreth is a great mediator, he always seems to have a solution. But he's lacking in flying finesse, though he's not an overly large dragon. He flies, just not with any sort of style.
