Description: 5'8", 135 lbs, medium complexion, Long, dark hair, dark eyes. Her skin is soft for not doing any menial work, with long, well-manicured nails. She prefers to wear dress and long skirts, though has taken to wearing pants in the Weyr. 

Personality: Elsbeth is very sure of herself, opinionated, and always has to get the last word in. She has a deep-seeded fear of abandonment and will lash out in anger to hide any hurt feelings she may have. She is intelligent and well-learned . She is also skilled in many needlearts. She is very proud of her family, and loves her father very much. Being raised as a Lady Holder, she thinks she is better than those of lower birth, though she will conceal such feelings if she thinks it is advantageous to.

History: Elsbeth was the only daughter of Lord Herron and Lady Caroline, Lord Holders of Southern Hold on the Southern Continent. Lady Caroline differed from many of her Lady Holder counterparts by choosing to have an active role in her daughter's upbringing. She saw to it that Elsbeth developed a love of reading and learning as well as the other duties she would be required as a Lady Holder. When Elsbeth was 5, Lady Caroline started to fall ill, and couldn't spend as much time with her, so she had a girl, Sehlina, about the same age as Elsbeth brought in to be her playmate. As the years passed, Lady Caroline grew worse, no one knowing what caused her ailments, and she died when Elsbeth was 10. She was heartbroken at the loss of her mother, and dealt with it by closing herself up. She started to become more scheming and manipulative. Her father also spoiled Elsbeth from this time, feeling some guilt at Caroline's death. He never remarried, partly due to Elsbeth's manipulations.

Elsbeth was raised to be the heir to Southern Hold, but a searchrider from Southern Weyr searched her and she impressed her first time on the sands. This left Lord Herron with a quandry. Without Elsbeth, he had no heir. Rather than leave the hold in contention, he began searching for a woman to be his new Lady and Wife, and found one which he married while Elsbeth was still a Weyrling. This hurt and angered Elsbeth, who refused to acknowledge the new Lady Caraline as her step mother, though she still loved her father very much.

Elsbeth transferred to Mountain Song Weyr to put some distance between herself and her stepmother.
