Description: Elissa is 5'4", 115lbs, with shoulder-length blonde hair, and pale violet eyes. She dresses in the colors of her craft, but she also likes greens and purples.

Personality: Self-conscious and unsure of herself and her skills, mostly because of the high expectations placed on her by her father. She doesn't  speak up unless encouraged or specifically told to. She is reserved until she gets to know a person, then she is more open and friendly. She has an artistic side and likes to draw, which has been mostly frustrated by the demands from her father to excel in her craft and not waste time on frivolous activities.

History: Elissa was born at Igen hold, the second daughter of five children of Master Healer Mendoza there. She was apprenticed into the Healer Hall when she was 11 at her father's wishes, though she showed more of an interest in music and art. She was discouraged from these pursuits, and When a new Master Healer and Apprentice was needed at Paradise River Hold near the Mountain Song Weyr, Elissa was chosen to accompany Master Maxell. She assists the Master with his duties in the hold and provides counterpoint to her Master in the evenings. In her spare time, she likes to draw, but she doesn't show anyone. She doesn't think they're good enough for anyone to see.

When the tithe train from Paradise River was attacked on it's way to Mountain Song, the Lord Holder Borandt brought Master Maxell to attend to his wounded son personally. Maxell brought Elissa along, to keep an eye on her. While at the Weyr, Elissa was searched to be a Candidate for the next clutch. Unable to refuse such an honor, Master Maxell allowed Elissa to remain, as long as all of her chores and duties were in the infirmary. Neither Maxell nor her father expected her to impress. However, her first time on the sands, from the first egg to hatch, emerged a green that headed straight for Elissa. This change in Elissa's life enraged her father, which he expressed at the hatching feast. But, with the support of her friends Zasoi and R'kon, as well as her dragon, Elissa stood up to her father for the first time. He disowned her on the spot and left.

As her training continued, Elissa continued to come out her shell more. She developed strong feelings for her fellow classmate R'kon, a bronzerider, but has felt confused about them and if he felt the same. She strived to be friends with him, just enjoying his company. A chance meeting in the dining hall with two harpers, Tamara and Marline, had also given her an outlet for some of her creativitiy, as they asked to use some of Elissa's lyrics for their songs, and have been helping her improve her technique as well as perform them.
