Fourteenth Pass Pern

The Pern of Mountain Song Weyr is a slightly alternate timeline from the novels. AIVAS was discovered, but was destroyed by a faction suspicious of its existence before all of the information could be copied down. Other than that, the background from the books remain essentially unchanged (and untouched and unmentioned in this game).

Technology:    
* There is a proper Papercraft Hall, that makes what we would consider functional paper. An ink has also been developed that takes much longer to fade. However, paper is more expensive than using traditional hides.
* Beyond Glows and cheap candles and oil lamps, there is no other form of artificial lighting, though hydro-electricity is used by some of the craft halls.  
* The Glass-smith Hall did gain some improvements from the learning of how to make better and stronger lenses, as well as better qualities of glass. 
* The Starcraft Hall gained many useful star charts and other knowledge about the way the universe works.
