Location description: Located on the fringes of the marshlands that form the northern tip of one of Southern’s western islands, Barione is contradictory by nature. The marshlands are a mixture of fresh and salt, varying daily with the tides. The plants and animals there have learned to adapt, providing Barione with a rich assortment of rare herbs for the healers.
Brief history: Predating Mountain song by two generations, Barione is a small hold with a very large ego. Starting with the current Lady Holder’s grandfather Barione has laid claim (as yet uncontested... there simply is no one there to contest it) to the entire island. His son and granddaughter have seen fit to follow in that tradition, thus Barione has gained a reputation of being a rather pushy hold.
