Whersport

No one is exactly sure where Whersport comes from. Full grown they resemble nothing more than german-sheperd sized whers. They are only marginaly brighter than firelizards, and every bit as agressive as whers if not more so. They are also considered a delicacy. They have been imported to the Northern Continent in small numbers for the sole purpose of being raised as a food source.

Whersport do not impress in the same way that other dragon-kin do. "Impression" for them is more in the classic sense of small baby animals thinking the first critter they see is 'mommy'. There is no empathic bond though there can be affection. For the most part the people who raise whersport have no more attachment to them than most beastcrafters acquire for the wherries they raise. The same is mostly true in Southern. Wild Whersport are hunted as much as 'tame' ones are raised. Rumor has it that some silly fool of a rider actually found some young whersport and /kept/ them! Most people find such rumors as laughable as a pet wherry.

Whersport hatch about the size of germanshepherd puppies, and never grow beyond roughly 95 pounds. There is only minor disparity in size between the different colors. They lay between 6-10 eggs, and mate twice a turn. The lack of thread hasn't affected them overly much as they are hunted for their meat, therefore need to breed to keep populaton up. They are NOT commonly pets. You must have a very good story as to why you have one.
