There are just a few things you need to do first:

1.) Please read over the website first. Especially read the History, Rules, and FAQ sheets. This is an uncommon take on Pern so please be thorough. It will make things easier all around. Read the 'Pern' sections when you can. Those will enumerate how Pern currently stands in greater detail than anywhere else. If you want a rider, see the 'weyrs/Weyrholds/outposts' lists.

2.) No lurking. If you wish to join, we expect you to post. If you wish to observe for a time with the intention of becoming an active participant e-mail the BoD at delandristaff@yahoogroups.com.

3.) Please post regularly (every few days). While there is no hard and fast time for a removal for idleness, if you're going to be gone for more than 3 or 4 days tell us. Characters usually aren't cleared until the owner is bouncing, but if you have a character in a sensitive position and are gone for multiple plots on end with no notice, then your character will likely be moved to an NPC background role (such as Assistant Weyrling Master if they were Weyrling Master.)

4.) The focus of the game is RP. Power playing is not tolerated. OOC politics will be dealt with quickly and most likely severely. The game is supposed to be fun. Our rules exist solely to keep things orderly and as fair as possible.

Dragon Sensitivity

Please read this file before answering this question. This will materially affect how your character deals with dragons. Since it is possible for some people to be MORE sensitivity to dragons than others it is also possible for some people to be LESS. The summaries are listed below. Please note when we say 'minimum searched' it is in reference to what WOULD be searched if traditional search were ICly allowed. Currently it is volunteer only so the dragon deaf can apply, but they're still getting screened by a dragon so they may not be accepted. When regular search resumes, it will be what will and will not be searched as well as what will and will not be accepted in volunteers. Your Options are listed below for your convenience.

1 - Dragon Deaf (Cannot be searched, will never impress)
2 - Mostly Dragon Deaf (Cannot be searched, will never impress)
3 - Almost Dragon Deaf (Will not be actively searched, will only impress with prior staff approval.)
4 - Average Pernese (Probably will not be searched, but can volunteer and be accepted.)
5 - Slightly Sensitive (Minimum actively searched.)
6 - Average Rider
7 - Very Sensitive
8 - Abnormally Sensitive (Requires very good app)
9 - Not Quite HAD (Requires a very good app or prior staff approval.)
10 - HAD (Requires a very good app AND advance notice to staff. Yes, we will make you resubmit.)
