Description: Maritza is not a 'pretty' girl. Relatively handsome more than beautiful, with strong features, slightly long in face and nose. Her hair is a honeyed-brown, and her eyes are of almost exactly the same color. Her skin is tanned to a warm, even tone from lots of time outside, working with fish-nets. Her clothing tends to be functional, if usually skirts, and in blues, browns, and reds.

Personality: Maritza is an odd combination of strong-willed girl, and cot-holder's spoiled daughter. She does her part around the hold - a seacrafting cot-hold up near Southern Hold - when she feels like it, and usually because she'll do chores she enjoys. However, being the eldest child -and eldest daughter- her parents often lament her lack of appropriate behavior. Maritza is polite most of the time, but opinionated, and expects to be listened to. She doesn't see much point in the extent to which some of the 'niceties' go in the Holder circles. She tends to do things on a whim, which doesn't always end as she expects.

History: Eldest child and daughter of Cot holders (4 younger siblings, the two youngest being boys), Maritza isn't entirely sure what she's going to do with her life. Her parents want her married off. But her attitude, lack of 'classic' beauty, and preference for the outdoors and activity have held off many potential suitors. That, or she's flat out said 'no.' Head-strong, and more than a little spoiled, Maritza has rarely behaved as her parents wish she would. Not that things always work out as she wants either, as she tends to leap in without thinking things all the way through. Her most recent attempt to dodge forced marriage, and partially out of boredom... despite the fact she knows very little about dragons and has almost never been near one... Candidacy.
