Description: A fellow of medium height, only about 5' 9'', and thin, with dark brown, shaggy hair, and deep brown eyes that almost seem golden, like a canine's. He tends to dress in earth-tones.

Personality: Relaxed, but fairly quiet. Only talks when he has something to say, but it's usually worth listening to when he actually talks. The only ones he is particularly open with are his dragon, and his mate, Araline. Has a more subtle sense of humor than his dragon.

History: Raised in Telgar Hold, the son of a Baker and a Healer, Ketkat was an only child. With his parents constantly busy, he was often left to entertain himself outside of classes with the Hold harper, and liked to spend his time down in the Beastcrafter pens, where he discovered he was a natural with animals, even the ones other people couldn't get near. By the time he was seven turns old, the Beastcrafters were allowing him to help out every chance they could get him, and officially apprenticed him at eight. He was transferred to Honshu Weyrhold once he reached Journeyman. One day he found himself accidentally crossing paths with the crowd of Candidates heading for the sands for a hatching. The laconic beastcrafter wasn’t one to push through the crowd, or raise his voice in protest, and by the time he got free of the crowd, he was standing on the sands.

The egg was huge, and a smooth, solid rich green all over. Big enough to be a good sized bronze. When it cracked open, Ketkat was startled -like the rest of the onlookers- to see the dragon that rolled out, tumbling over himself twice before coming to rest in a sprawl. He was an average sized brown dragonet, klah dark on top, and nut-butter brown on the bottom, and -for having had the nourishment available to feed a bronze- an amusingly round belly. He looked up, eyes whirling hungrily, and bounded straight for one of the young men, nearly toppling over the skinny boy in the process. Ketkat had 'not' been expecting a dragon to notice him at all, let alone barrel him over. ((I'm 'starving!')) the dragonet informed him at once. ((Well...that's not my name. I'm Reeceth. But I'm going to fall over and pass 'out' if I don't get something to eat!)) As if to make the point, his stomach rumbled loudly. ((Can we eat? Pleeeeeease?))

Ketkat didn’t have it in him to say no. Fortunately, his training as a beastcrafter meant he instinctively had ‘some’ idea of what to do next. Food -two whole tubs full- and a bath later, Reeceth was sound asleep, and K’tkat was explaining what had happened to the Weyrling Master. He and Reeceth turned out to be fairly good at their training, though K’tkat found that Reeceth was rather stubborn about some things, and could eat twice as much as the other dragonets ‘without’ incurring the terrible stomach-aches the other dragonets would. Somehow they managed to pass training despite Reeceth’s expanding gut, and join the ranks of the Honshu riders.

Not long after graduating, a girl K’tkat had made friends with Impressed green. While she was clearly interested in him, K’tkat was as shy as ever, and wasn’t sure how to deal with the attention. Eventually though, he gave in and just went with his feelings and, after she graduated, K’tkat and Araline became weyr-mates, and he got used to the whole thing. Most recently, life has been shaken up again, as Araline is now pregnant with their first child.

Description: A long, thin brown, mainly dark, but with a double stripe running down his sides from nose to tail, one a caramel color, and the other a pale almost-white brown. A gift from Araline from before they got together. Personality: Friendly and often amused at the world, he makes a 'snickering' sound equivalent sometimes, which gives him his name.

Age: 7
Description: A two-toned brown, a dark, chocolatey color on top, and more of a nut-butter color on the bottom, almost perfectly bisected. Stocky in build, though slightly small in stature for a brown, his most distinctive feature is his definitively rotund form. Reeceth has the distinction of being the fattest dragon on Pern. A fact he is -rather inexplicably- proud of.
Personality: Reeceth is laid back and jovial, likes to chat, and a definite flirt when a female catches his eye. With an ego to match most Browns, he’s convinced he’s just as good as they are, and that the females are just as interested in him! His biggest weakness is, obviously, food.
